God is good.

My how the time flies... when you are having fun or are just bogged down with stuff. Well, the semester is over and I am glad, it was alright... the last couple weeks were pretty crazy, but I passed! Actually a bit better than passing and higher than the 3.0 I need to go to Scotland next fall. I am done with physics forever!!! *happy dance* I know, I know we still use physics blah blah... but its not pure physics and I'm still way happy!

So I really suck at reflecting or like remembering cool stuff that happened a while ago... so here goes. This semester was good. At first I really missed the seniors that graduated last year, and wasn't really accustomed to living in North. But I have still gotten to talk to and hang out with many of the seniors and I really love living in North, Renee has been an awesome blessing and my suitemates kick butt too. Also having Suite Jesus downstairs has been nice, kinda reminicent of last year and Lighthouse. The schoolwork has been hard, but not as bad as I was prepared for, which is good, I got enough sleep for the most part and watched 4 seasons of Scrubs along with other movies and distractions.

I really enjoyed helping out with the Frosh study, although last year was nice having like no leadership responsibilities, it was also fun to be in on the behind the scenes work and stuff. God has been teaching me alot, mostly about his love and how I can truly recieve that and live in that love. I must confess that I have not been the best listener and allowed myself to be distracted many a time, but He would not let me lose out on this lesson and kept reminding me over and over and I think I am finally starting to get some of it although I know I have much more to learn. I think thats good for now.

I really like break! I sleep so much and it has been good hanging out with some of my high school friends. My high school band is marching in the Rose Parade this New Year, my brother will be in it and some of my friends are going back to be in it as well. I will be sitting in the bleachers near where the TV coverage is and happily not marching 7+ miles. It is kinda nice being able to watch and not be in the middle of stuff, a whole lot less pressure and I get to actually enjoy it.

Christmas was really fun, our family always gets together at my grandma's house for a big dinner and this year we ate on the back porch. I love So Cal. After opening presents and stuff, we played some poker, mostly Texas Hold 'em which was fun. Our last hand everybody went all in and I acually won with a 2 and 4 offsuit when my cousin had pocket aces, I just had a though to calculate the probability that that would happen, but I think I will leave the ProbStat behind me and just say that it was really cool.

So since Christmas, two of my gifts have used up most of my time. The first being WoW. I've been playing alot, but I think that it is best played in groups with people you know, I played with Jordan for a while, which was good. Long live the order of the red shirts! And the second is the book Every Young Woman's Battle which my mom gave me. Although I normally might not put a whole lot of stock in these kinds of books, I have found this one to speak into my situation and help me to confront and deal with my own issues. God has been really teaching me alot over this break about how He is the only one that can really fill me and satisfy me. So I've been turning to Him with my desires and thoughts and He has really given me peace about alot of situations that I was previously going crazy thinking about. This is also really cool because I'm only like half way through the book. hehe.

So, in conclusion, God is good. This year and every other. And I'll keep trying to listen to his small voice.

My Dance Class

So, I'm in Modern I at Scripps this semester, and it has been just plain awesome. We have about ten or so girls in the class and it has been great getting to know all of them better. The class is so cool because it is completely different from all of my Mudd classes and allows me to escape the intellectual part of myself and really just experiment and emote and stuff... sure the boys downstairs make fun of me sometimes, I don't really mind, because I really do love it and it is so nice to have that kind of release from the bogged down feeling of Mudd in general.

Anyway, today we all showed each other our rough drafts for our final dance project. They were all so cool, everyone had a pretty much completely different approach and were all captivating in their own way. The weird part is that we were supposed to come up with this dance without any music... it was just about the movement and what we wanted to portray by it, not interpreting music. This was difficult for me, I love music and dancing is mostly an expression of how awesome that is, but this was a fun experience to make movement in and of itself and not worry about what the music is portraying, only what I want to portray through movement (I really like the word portray). So mine is kinda random, quirky, comical and stuff and my professor commented that that is how she has come to know who I am and I felt that was kinda true, I really like being funny and I am definitely quirky(I like that word too) and I think that it is cool that that is coming out in my dancing.

I also read a poem for another girl's dance, that was really fun. I enjoy messing with that type of stuff to make it fit to her movement and add a cool atmosphere to what she is trying to portray. And after I read it, the other girls said I should do acting or something and I thought that would be cool. My only acting experience is the musical Fiddler on the Roof my sophmore year of high school where I had one line... good times. Anyway, now I'm thinking about taking an acting class next semester.

So from all of this, I think my concentration is going to be either dance, or performing arts... dance and acting. I love how they are so not about thinking, they are about expressing, which isn't often done in the Mudd bubble.
