Back in the 'Merica
Hey everyone, sorry for neglecting the blog action, but as always you will just have to deal. So I made it back to California A-OK on a 10 hour flight from Dublin. Ireland was fun, especially the Day of Fun trip up to Belfast, it was so good to see you guys again. And now I have been back state side for a little less than a week. So surreal. It is amazing how quickly you can fall back into old habits when you come back to the same environment. But at the same time, there is something in my head that is saying... wait it should take longer to get used to this, I've been gone for a while, why does it look almost exactly the same? or something to that effect. The funniest thing is the way that soda bottles look.. they are so fat over here. And sometimes when I am riding in a car I imagine that we are driving on the left side of the road and kinda freak out a bit, but it isn't a problem when I drive.. I guess because I never drove on the "proper" side of the road. I feel like I should have more stuff from my experience.. but most is just cheesy touristy junk. My mom and I cleaned off the kitchen table today and tomorrow we are probably gonna go shopping for organization stuff. And as it turns out, I will be off this weekend for a women's retreat with the college group ladies at my church. Kinda hit me by surprise, but should be fun nonetheless. I've been able to hang out with Liz and Justin a bit over the past few days, we were best friends in High School. Liz is up at UC Davis and is driving up tomorrow and Justin is at UC San Diego and is probably driving down there tomorrow as well. We watched the Island tonight, pretty cool movie. Can't really go wrong with Ewan McGregor, after all, he's Scottish.. hehe. A little bit in the line of the matrix, but still pretty cool. Well I should probably get to sleep.. my innerclock is still a little off.. I keep waking up at 8 am or so... it really sucks. But I suppose it adds time to the day or something. Oh, and tomorrow is the first Friday Email Day, so you might be getting an email from me.... I'm planning on doing a bit of a rotation so that everyone will get an email at least once a month.. and more if you respond! I'll try to make them at least slightly interesting! Anywho.. g'night!
